國切連的Human Error 事件
2002年,我朋友K先生跟當時是同事兼好友的L先生(a.k.a computerhead)於Motclub903(發源地)的支持下,製作了一盒二十張的Postcard,以紀念品形式供Motclub會員以網上積分換領。整個pack是一個極簡單的pizza盒:

然後,數日前有友人報料,指於HMV發現idN(全名International Designers Network, 國際切雞絲連網,簡稱國切連)發行的DesignEdge2005 dvd,上有疑似是K先生(a.k.a rexair)跟L先生(a.k.a computerhead)的logo。朋友調查之下發現真有其事,兩位立即對事件表示震驚,一則K先生跟L先生均完全未曾參與任何DesignEdge2005之活動,二則碟面graphic完全是把當年的postcard set 背面原封不動照scan,有圖為證:
朋友於是去電郵往國切連,希望了解清楚事情的來龍去脈。信中表示對logo被擺上不屬於是自己設計的物件完全不知情,並且對此感到不快,希望國切連能夠有一個合理答覆,否則不排除會採取法律行動。朋友於當晚立即收到國切連方面的回覆,現一字不漏照錄如下(除人名/地名/某產品名稱一律「打格」):
Hi XXX & XXX,
My name is XXX from IdN. We might have met some years ago when XXX introduced us.
I am writing in regards to the rexair/computerhead logo appearing in the DE05 DVD. We apologizes for this apparent mistake on our side. Truth of the matter is that we were scanning the 903 postcard souvenir cardboard box to produce the background texture for our DVD.
Human error to control the visible layers occurred during output. It was not intended that the design had incorporated the rexair/computerhead logo. Not to our defense, the fault was purely due human error and we sincerely apologizes for this incident.
On a lighter tone; IdN is currently working with XXX on their 2007 worldwide campaign. The campaign is about "XXX XXX XXX", and it involves commissioning 1 artist from selected Asian cities to produce an art piece to tour in XX , XXX and XXX. HK being one of the selected city, we would love to see if there is the possibility to collaborate in this front.
Please let us know your thoughts in both issues.

朋友與computerhead均未能對回覆表示滿意,因為:
1. 國切連方面似乎認為字面上的誠心道歉已經足夠,並不打算採取更實際有力的行動去彌補錯誤。
2.道理上說不通,大家都是從事切雞,熟悉創作與製作過程,出現這種錯誤的機會率幾乎是0%,而且找一塊空紙皮又有何難?國切連總部樓下就是生果檔。
3.尾段最令人氣憤:明顯想用「好玩嘢」利誘,意圖平息事件。這類手段於切雞不是請客吃飯一文已有提及。
朋友於是再去信,表示這類錯誤實在不能接受,現下唯一解決方法是國切連方面回收所有dvd,因為上面印有rexair與computerhead兩個切雞單位的logo,實在令人產生混亂。國切連於一天後回覆,表示同意回收所有問題dvd,並即日開始行動,現在idnproshop.com已經不能網上訂購該產品。
事情表面上似乎得到解決,但朋友認為事情有幾點令人不能接受,故希望在這裡作個記錄,引以為鑑:
1.國切連作為一間成立超過十年,並且於行內有一定名望的出版社/創作單位,這類錯誤基本上沒可能會犯。就算於執行上出錯,製成品出街前難道會無人驗貨或approve? 國切連明顯隻眼開隻眼閉以為無事。
2. 國切連方面其實毫無誠意,原只打算作口頭道歉和「好玩job」的利誘便了事。要經K先生和L先生方面提出方肯答應回收問題dvd。
3.國切連此舉毫不尊重切雞絲。
希望事件就此平息。
